User Defined Data
Overview:
Use the User Defined Data view to add and edit user-defined fields on views and tabs.
Data entered into a dynamic (blank or mandatory) field or contained within a static field (read-only menu options) on a view or tab is stored in a database table that is associated to a business object namespace. The software uses the business object namespace to identify the field to the end user. This is helpful for writing queries about the information contained in the field.
The creation of fields on views and tabs is a three-step process:
1. Creating the Table and Business Object for a Field (User Defined Data view)
2. Defining Field Parameters (User Defined Data view)
3. Adding a Field to a View or Tab (View Change view)
