Create a User-Defined Business Object for a Field
Synergy SIS>System>Data and Views>User Defined Data>Basic Info tab
Use this procedure to create a user-defined business object for a field. The business object includes a table to store field data.
Tasks
Create User Defined Business Object
Click
. User Defined Data Add view displays.
Click
next to Name field. Find Foreign Key view displays.
Type
Namespace
and/or
Name
for parent business object (such as Student) that is associated with view or tab that will contain new field, if known.
Click
.Search Results displays a list of records matching criteria entered.
If desired Namespace or Name of the parent Business Object is not shown in the first grid:
Click page number on Page Navigation Control Bar and continue searching.
Click anywhere on appropriate record to highlight.
Click
. Name field populates on User Defined Data Add view and Find Foreign Key view closes.
Check
Add the change stamp and user ID tracking
to have software track changes to field.
Click
Query Display Type
and select appropriate.
Click
to save information or click
to cancel operation without saving information.
NOTE:
Once saved, User Defined (UD) characters identify business object as user defined and precedes information in the
Name
and
DB Table Name.
