Rules Setup

• Click . A new Rules Setup screen displays. Required information is highlighted in green.

• Enter a Rule Name .

• Click Category and select. Available categories are Discipline, Enrollment, Health, Query, and Student.

• Check Enable Rule to turn rule on.

• Click Run Type and select. Available types are:

• • Batch rules run once a day

  • Real Time rules run at time data is entered

  • Real Time and Batch rules run for both.

• Click Error or Notification Caused When and select when a message regarding rule is generated. Choices are All Rules are True, All Rules are False, Any Rule is True, or Any Rule is False.

• Enter when to start processing rule in Year Start, and, if applicable, year to stop running rule in Year End.

• Check Year Extensions for which this rule is effective.

Batch Validation Options is an additional section added if Batch or Real Time and Batch were selected as Run Type.

• • Click Processing Group to be used by rule. Each group is assigned a run time, and a user group or individual users who receive any error notifications. Processing groups are setup using Rule Group screen.

  • Check to Include Validation Errors in Report, in addition to any other errors.

  • Check Create Person Notification to create a notification code in Person Notification Codes screen automatically, and to automatically assign it to students that meet criteria of rule.

• Click next to Message Number to select message that is used when rule is active.  Find: RevMessage screen displays.

• Enter all or part of Message Number or Msg.

• Click . Search Results displays a list of messages matching criteria entered.

• Click line of message. Message highlights.

• Click again. Find: RevMessage screen closes. Message Number displays as link.

• Click Message Number link to create a custom message. Revelation Message screen displays.

• Click . New Rules Setup view closes and information entered is displayed.

• Click on Rule Details bar. A new line is added to grid.

• Enter Order in which rule should be processed.

• Description will be automatically filled in once rule is defined.

• Click Type and select.

• Click . Description is displayed.

• Click to further define newly created rule.

• Click line of rule to edit. Line highlights. Detail groups open on right side of screen.

• Follow on screen help, specific to rule detail selected. First section describes what selected rule specifically verifies.

Each section of Rule Detail tab has additional help.

• Click on bar to display that section help.

• Click when finished selecting all rule details.

• Check  on line of Rule to delete.

• Click .

• Click at top of screen. message from webpage displays confirming deletion, as it cannot be undone.

• Click to delete or click to return to screen.
