School Setup

• Synergy SIS generates an error message when updating homeroom data if Basic Info tab not yet configured. Basic Info tab error message states, “Homeroom periods cannot be updated until a Homeroom has been defined.”

• Grade level selections may vary depending on grade levels determined by District.

• Tracks contains checkboxes only after District Tracks screen has been configured.

• Change focus in Synergy SIS to school to be configured.

• Enter first period number in Start Period.

• Enter last period number in End Period.

 For example, if school has 6 periods, start period might be 1 and end period would be 6.

• Indicate Homeroom Period, if students are assigned a homeroom. If there is not a standard homeroom period, leave blank.

• Click Homeroom Meeting Day and select, if homeroom is scheduled for once a week,only.

• Click School Attendance Type and select.

Options available are Period Attendance, Daily Attendance or Both Period and Daily Attendance.

• Click School Attendance Taken and select.

Options are either By Section or By Bell Period.

• Click School Attendance Reason Type and select. Regular is for schools that record absences, and Positive is for schools that record a student’s attendance instead.

• Click Calendar Type and select Regular.

• Click .

• Repeat this process for each school.
