School Setup - Initial School Setup

• Check right side of Title Bar.

• Focus displays current school name, focus year, user’s name, and if set, an indicator about showing inactive students.

• Click Focus. Select Focus screen opens.

• Click to expand list of schools.

• Scroll to locate school.

• Click name of school. School name is highlighted.

If desired for this screen,

• Click Focus Year and select.

• Click Show Inactive Students and select.

• Click .

• Enter numeric value in Start Period

• Enter numeric value in End Period.

NOTE: Both Start Period and End Period must be populated. Start period must be less than End Period.

• Enter a numeric value in Homeroom Period.

NOTE: Value for Homeroom Period must fall within values for Start Period and End Period.

• Click School Type   and select.

• Click School Attendance Type and select.

School Attendance Type table below describes each menu option and its effect on other screens.

• Click School Attendance Taken and select.

• Click School Attendance Reason Type and select.

• Click Concurrent Enrollment Type and select.

If school is a Minnesota Alternative Learning Center

• Click ALC school Type and select ALC School.

If school is an Arizona virtual school

• Click School Category  and select TAPBI.

• Click Calendar Type and select appropriate.

• Check all Grade offered at school.

• Click Grading Period and select.

• Click Enter Code and select.

• Type Enter Date (MM/DD/YYYY) or click and select date.

• Click . A new row displays in Term Definition grid.

• Type Term Number.

• Type Term Name.

• Type Term Begin Date (MM/DD/YYYY) or click and select date.

• Type Term End Date (MM/DD/YYYY) or click and select date.

• Click .

NOTE: Term Begin Date contains first valid day of school calendar if this is first term. For other than first term, Term Begin Date will contain first valid day after date in previous Term End Date.

NOTE: Software populates Current Term Codes after term codes are added and saved in steps below.

• Click .

• Click on the Term Codes group box. A new row displays in Term Codes group box.

• Type Term Code Number.

• Click Term Code and select.

NOTE: This field can be populated with additional entries depending on term defining.

• Click .

• Click .

• Check appropriate Tracks.

• Click .

• Click SIS Data Options tab.

• Enter Old SIS Number

• Next Available SIS Number is auto-populated. If desired, enter different number.

• Type appropriate network or local hard drive path in Path to SIS Data Files.

• Click Conversion Server and select appropriate server. This is server that performs data conversions from SASI* educational software to Synergy SIS.

NOTE: Push Back to Old Sis System is inactive at this time.
