Use Immunization Definition tab to setup immunization definition information and manage complicated immunization requirements with Immunization Groups. Using Immunization Groups, immunizations with varying requirements across ages and grades are divided into separate immunization definitions to capture all of the requirements needed. These definitions are then grouped together to capture the overall compliance and its requirements.
Enter vaccination requirement in Immunizations grid in two or more separate requirements.
Click .
Example: Requirement for varicella vaccine in some states is 1 dose if it is given to student before they are 13, or 2 doses if first dose was given at 13 years of age or later. Varicella requirements would be entered as one requirement for students younger than 13, and one requirement for students 13 years or older.
Click on Immunization Groups bar. A new line is added to grid.
Enter a Group Name.
Click Group Type.
Select Individually if a student needs to meet a single requirement of a group to be compliant, only.
Example: Requirement for the varicella vaccine in some states is 1 dose if it is given to student before they are 13, or 2 doses if the first dose was given at 13 years of age or later. In this example, the student needs to meet a single requirement not both.
OR
Select Group Type or Combined if dosages can be substituted for each other in a grouping.
Example: A student is required to take 4 dosages of either DTaP, DTP, or DT vaccine. Each vaccine could be listed separately, and if student takes a combined total of 4 of the 3 types of vaccines, they are considered compliant.
Check Merge Data Type to merge definitions on Immunizations tab of Health screen so that only one line displays for all definitions in a group. They cannot be merged if data has already been entered for definitions.
NOTE: Individual definitions will still be monitored for compliance and appear separately on Immunization Definition. This works best for vaccines such as Varicella vaccine where each definition references same vaccine, but requirements are different either by age or grade.
Click .
Select definitions to be part of group
Click on Immunization Groups grid.
Click line number of Group Name if more than one group is in grid. Group name will highlight.
Check Immunization Definitions to include in group.
Setup Immunization Definitions
and select procedure for immunizations validation.
. A new blank line displays on Immunizations grid.
