Work Sample Definition

• Select Do Not Use “Not Attempted”  to restrict user from selecting the Performance Level of Not Attempted. When selected the default Performance Level of 'Not Attempted' is replaced by the Performance Level selected in the Default Performance Level field.

NOTE: The Default Performance Level field only displays when you select the Do Not Use “Not Attempted” option.

• Select the Default Performance Level from the drop-down.

NOTE: The Default Performance Level is applied by the system when:

• A Work Samples Performance Level Type is set to “Trait Scores” and no Trait Scores have been entered.

• A Work Samples Performance Level Type is set to “Performance Level” and no Performance Level has been selected.

All fields and all Performance Level Legends on the Student Work Sample History screen, Class Work Sample Entry screen, Grade Book Class Work Sample Entry and TeacherVUE Class Work Sample Entry are updated to remove the Performance Level of “Not Attempted”.

WARNING: Work Samples must be recalculated any time either the Do Not Use “Not Attempted” option or the Default Performance Level field is changed. See

• Select Require ‘Completed Date’ For Essential Skill Work Samples to require that all essential skills work samples have a completed dated entered.

• Select Require ‘Completed Date’ For Non-Essential Skill Work Samples to require that all non-essential skills work samples have a completed dated entered.

NOTE: When a Require Completed Date option is selected, the date becomes required on a work sample any time an Admin Code has been entered, the Performance Level Type is set to Performance Level, or Trait Scores are entered. Enter the first year work samples will be entered in the system in the Work Sample Initial Year field.

NOTE: You may have imported work samples from previous years during the initial setup. The Work Sample Initial Year should be set to the year of the oldest work sample in the system.
