Test Definition

There are two types of tests that can be defined in Synergy SIS: a part-based test or an objectives-based test. A combined definition that tracks both parts and objectives can be created, also.

A part-based test tracks student scores on defined parts of a test. Example: A college entrance exam such as SAT is considered a part-based test since scores are reported for each par,t such as Math.

An objective-based test tracks student scores based on defined objectives covered in test. A test created by a teacher to measure a student’s progress towards meeting a state standard for math such as “Compare and order real numbers” would be considered an objective-based test. Questions that address each objective are mapped in test definition so that performance on each objective can be tracked.
