If street is a boundary between one grid code and another, one side of street may belong to one grid code and other side of street another grid code. Since odd numbers run along one side of street and even numbers run along other side,
Click Odd/Even and select. If left blank, all numbers are included.
If direction information comes before street name, as in N. 6th Ave.
Click Pre Direction and select.
If direction information follows street name, as in 6th Ave NW,
Click Post Direction and select.
In some cities, street type (Ave, St) is critical as city has a street with same name that is differentiated by type, only. (6th St. and 6th Ave.).
Check Use Street Type to include type of street in validation,
Check Is PO Box if address refers to a PO box.
Type City.
Click State and select,
Type Zip 5.
If 4-digit add-on number is same for all addresses in grid,
Type Zip 4.
To assign street to a grid code
Click next to Grid Code. Desired grid code must already exist in Address Grid Verification screen.
Enter all or part of Grid Code, or all or part of School Name for street.
Click .. A list of all grid codes that meet criteria entered is displayed.
Click on grid code to use.
Click .
This populates both Grid Code and Elementary School.
Click .
Once street saved, Junior High School and High School assigned to grid code display.
