Curriculum Maps

• Navigate to LessonVUE > Curriculum Maps. The Available Maps display.

• Click . The Curriculum Map screen opens.

• Enter a Map Name and Map Description.

• Select if this is a Grade Level or Subject/Course Curriculum Map Type.

• Select the Grade Level, School Year, School, and Grading Period from the drop-downs.

• Click next to the name of an Available Staff member to share the map.

• Once selected, check Read Only Access to limit the staff member to viewing and not editing the map.

• Click . The screen closes and the new map displays in the list

View Map displays all weeks for the grading period vertically. The map can be filtered to display selected Subjects and/or Element Types

• Click on an element to view a menu of actions that can be taken on the element.  Toggle Taught Status is an indicator to the element to identify items on the map that have already been taught. The title of the element and the supporting objectives display above the name of the element.

• Navigate to LessonVUE > Curriculum Maps. The Available Maps display.

• Click on the name of the map to edit. The View Map displays.

• Click Edit Map.

OR

Click on the Week where the element is scheduled.

The Edit Map screen opens and a slider bar provides navigation to different elements that are scheduled.

• Click Add Item to open the Curriculum Elements page within the screen.  Identify items to add to the map.

• Click (+) to the left of the item’s name to add the element to the Item Holding / Selected Items area. This box holds all items selected while searching for elements – these items can then be added to the map after all items have been located.

• Check Standards  to locate the standards to add directly to the map. This feature is useful for mapping when certain standards will be taught within a class.

• A Quick Add Curriculum allows users to quickly create a Curriculum Element with a minimal amount of information. The item is directly added to the Item Holding Area upon filling out the information and clicking Add. This feature is useful for curriculum pacing/planning as elements can quickly be added to the map, allowing the content/details to be added at a later time.

• After all desired items are added to the Item Holding Area, click Back to Map. Items can be added to the map by simply dragging the items from the Item Holding Area to the desired location on the map.

Curriculum Map Inheritance

Curriculum Maps are automatically inherited by teachers when they access the Curriculum Maps page. Any Curriculum Maps tied to the grade level or course that a teacher teaches will be available to them in the Curriculum Map view.

Clicking on the map name automatically duplicates the district map, creating a teacher-specific map that the teacher can edit. Any changes made to the map at this point are made only in the teacher’s copy.  The district map is automatically hidden during this process.

To revert back to the district map, click the Revert. Any changes made to the teacher-specific map will be deleted and the district map will be restored.
